Whether you’ve just moved to the city or been here for a few years we would love to welcome you into our church family and help you find a home.

Students!

Our church pursue students slightly differently, instead of a student group, we want to get to know you personally and help you to grow in the area God is calling you into. We love to get students involved in church life, whether you want to grow in speaking God’s word, lead worship or enjoy investing in kids work – we love to see you do what you love.

We also want you to get to know the whole church family whilst you’re here at Waterbrook. We see this by having less ‘student events’ and give a wide invitation to all the other amazing things happening here.

We do have some student only time like our fortnightly Student Breakfast’s which the next one is Saturday 13th October.

Sunday 30th September – CU Bonfire Party
-Ramot, Broom Hill, BS16 1DN. 7pm start

Here at Waterbrook we love to celebrate and we’re excited to host this event for the third year in the row! This event is celebrate all the hardwork the CU team have put into planning, preparing and running all the amazing events that have happened over the last two weeks. This is a time to relax, make friends whilst melting marshmalows over the bonfire. We hope you have your sombrero’s because it’s Mexican Night, expect nachos and build your own burrito!

Sunday 7th Oct – Church Lunch

We’ve recently brought our monthly church lunch’s back!  This is a great opportunity to sit down to some good homemade grub and meet some more of the church family! Head over to see Meriel to find out why she keeps going back to Israel every year for the last 20, or Joseph to find out about Burn 24/7 an event that keep worship going 24/7 around the world and how you can be involved in Bristol’s furnace or why not find Mel and find out how she’s making safe prayer spaces in primary schools.

Friday 12th Oct – Communion Meal

Our Communion Meal is a more intimate time where around 10-12 gather to eat, read from the Bible and pray together. It’s a great way to draw near to God, be still in his presence and start the weekend off right.

Saturday 13th Oct – Student Breakfast

This happened nearly every fortnight last year and we LOVED it. We invited you into our homes, and laughed until our stomached ached, smiled until our cheeks hurt and shared life together. You don’t have to commit to our church to come to these, they are an outreached hand to students from all walks of life. The first one is at Ramot, (the same house as the CU Bonfire Party), whether it’s pancakes, a fry-up or something more continental we would love to see you there at 10am!

Wednesday 17th Oct – Discipleship series starting

Since 2017, we stopped meeting regularly as housegroups and instead invested in larger projects like Alpha (keep you eyes peeled for this coming in 2019) and discipleship series. This project is where as a whole church you’re invited to learn and study more on what it’s like to be a disciple of God and what that looks like in the 21st century. It’s a six week course and we’re kicking off here!

Friday 19th Oct – Girls Evening

Sunday 21st Oct – Church breakfast

Similarly to our church lunch’s however before our Sunday morning service at 10! It’s only a short one but we welcome you to come early, grab a bacon roll and ask people how their week’s have been. Who knows you might sit somewhere different this week.

Wednesday 24th Oct – Discipleship series week 2

This is week 2 of the discipleship series. It’s running every Wednesday for six weeks. You’ll get the most of it if you come to all the sessions, but no worries if you can’t – most people came to the ones they could make last year and still learnt a lot.

Saturday 27th Oct – Student breakfast

Who knows what this morning will hold? Savoury pancakes? Fruit scones? Come with hungry stomach’s! Look out for an email or our facebook page

Sunday 28th Oct – Going Deeper

Going Deeper runs once a month usually on the last Sunday. It’s where we don’t restrict a time limit on listening to God. Whether you want to stay into the night or come just for half an hour, it’s an amazing time to spend listening to God and to see and practice the spiritual gifts He has given you.

Student Life at Waterbrook

We love to get students involved in church life, whether you want to grow in speaking God’s word, lead worship or enjoy investing in kids work – we want you to grow spiritually. But Waterbrook is primarily a place where everyone can experience God’s restoration, peace and healing.

We also want you to get to know the whole church family whilst you’re here at Waterbrook. We see this by having less ‘student events’ and give a wide invitation to all the other amazing things happening here.

We do have some student-only time like our fortnightly Student Breakfast’s which the next one is Saturday 13th October.

Katie Fletcher / Student Intern

at Waterbrook for 3yrs

I moved to Bristol in 2015 to start studying here at UWE to be an adult nurse! I fell in love with the heart and passion for people at Waterbrook and soon stopped my plan on visiting other churches by week 3. I love the family closeness of Waterbrook, I feel loved and valued by God as well as the people here. I have such a heart for people and also for mentoring students.
